Steam History of Records
American Fred Marriott was the original record holder of Steam Power for over 100 years. The Steam Powered Vehicle was built by The Stanley Brothers in 1906 and set the record of 127.66 MPH, on the sands of Florida’s Ormond Beach. Fred Marriott’s record was broken in 2009 by the British Steam Team, “Inspiration” with an average speed of 148.308 mph.

Cuban-American Nelson Hoyos is a two-time NHRA Sport Compact Pro FWD Champion and Bonneville veteran who drove the GM Performance 4-Cylinder Turbocharged Cobalt to a speed record of 243 mph at Bonneville Salt Flats. Nelson owner of The Driven2Win Drag Racing School, has teamed up with Harry Schoell inventor of The American made Cyclone Engine; a 6 cylinder, radial format that produces 100hp @3600rpm and 850lbs-ft of torque at starting. This Modern Steam Engine will propel the new Team Steam USA Streamliner to its target goal of 200 MPH. Nelson and Harry plan to bring the Steam Power vehicle record back home to America.
The American Engineered Team Steam USA Streamliner is being fabricated in Florida right now. Nelson
and Harry are hard at work putting all the pieces together at their location in Pompano, Florida. What
took the British over 10 years to put together, these American Designers are on the cusp of making
history in a matter of months. This Team Steam USA project will change how we think about placing
power to the pavement. Forget about fossil fuels and greenhouse gasses.
The Cyclone Engine is capable of running on virtually any fuel (or combination of fuels) including today’s promising new bio fuels, while emitting far fewer pollutants than traditional gas or diesel powered internal combustion engines.

Rainmagic is the only G.E. tested rain repellent for Harley-Davidson and Honda Gold Wings Rainmagics unique windshield coating significantly reduces the drag coefficient on windshields at high speeds.
Rainmagics Pyrocoat R class A fire retardant will be used to protect the streamliner from fire. This fire retardant coating has been used by every NHRA funny car for protection on their carbon fiber bodies.
